Spiders
All spiders are poisonous to some degree to humans and pets. In Arizona the black widow and brown recluse and the common tarantula are considered public health pests due to the toxicity of their venom. The tarantula’s venom is very mild and may only result in a bee sting like reaction. Still no fun to step on.

The female black widow venom is very deadly, but she rarely injects enough venom to prove deadly. Symptoms of its bite include nausea, abdominal pain, headache, pain and muscle cramps, dizziness. Seek medical assistance immediately.

Scorpions

Scorpions like to live outdoors, but they will invade homes and buildings in search of food and cool temperatures. In Arizona this means they like to come inside and relax with the humans and their pets. Scorpions will sting, usually only when provoked or disturbed. Scorpion venom is called a neurotoxin. The dose injected usually is insufficient to prove fatal to an adult human. NOT SO GOOD WITH THE KIDS. Scorpions are most active at night.

They like to hide under debris which provide shelter and protection and keep them cool. Places commonly infested in a home are under the house or in the attic. They feed on insects, spiders, or similar small pests.
